Fern Canyon

Fern Canyon

Fern Canyon is not easy to get to. One must turn off the Highway 101 north of Eureka and drive down a long, bumpy dirt the road in the middle of nowhere for over five miles, a trip that takes at least 20 minutes. Then one must hike over a mile to get to there. But it’s worth it. Surrounded by lush green ferns and redwoods, it’s no wonder they braved the logistical challenges to film the 1997 sequel to Steven Spielberg’s class film Jurassic Park here.
